The Rain Has Certainly Helped
We have had two summer storms blow in over the past few days. They brought rain, but also tremendous winds. Friday night our power was out for a few hours, but there are still some people without power. While the rains came in fast and quick, they did afford the plants a quick drink and it has helped with this weeks blooms.

Today's Blooms
The high today was 87. It was really pleasant in the shade because there was a nice breeze. However, I can not remember the last time it rained. The lilies are blooming, but the blooms and small and few.

Where Does Your Garden Grow?
In an old tub?
In a pair of old work boots?
How about in your old bathtub left over from the remodeling job?
In an old wheelbarrow that was missing a handle?
In an old medicine cabinet cleverly hidden behind rocks?
In an old tree stump?
How about in a birdcage?
Why not in that old grill since you got a new one for Father’s Day?

Daylily in the herbs ~ by our back deck we have a planter of herbs. This daylily bloomed out today beside them.
In the backyard we have multiple flowerbeds full of all types of flowers. Some lily blooms we know the names of; most of them we do not. At one time we knew them, but have just forgotten over the years. However, whether you know the name or not, they are still beautiful.
This one I know is Barbara Mitchell, as perfect a daylily as you can find.
Balancing act ~ sometimes necessary to get a drink.
Most mornings you can find us on the deck enjoying our morning coffee and reading, writing, carving, or painting. Usually we are joined by a cat or two or three.
